When I first met E + K over Zoom, I immediately felt a sense of comfort and connection. Their warmth and friendliness made it feel like we had been friends for a lifetime. So when they chose me to be their photographer, I was absolutely thrilled! It didn't matter where they were getting married; I just knew I had to be a part of their special day.
Before their wedding, we had an amazing engagement photo session at Trillium Lake (one of my favorite locations). You can view the photos here. They brought their adorable pup and their favorite drinks (my love language!), which made the experience even more fun! We had a blast exploring the lake while watching the sunset behind Mt Hood. I thought I couldn't be more excited about their wedding, but boy, was I wrong!
Their ceremony took place at their local church, and they selected the stunning Leach Botanical Garden in Portland for their reception. The weather in October was perfection! What stood out to me the most on their wedding day were the beautiful Filipino traditions they incorporated into their Nuptial Mass, such as the coin, veil, and lasso ceremony. It was an incredible honor to capture these meaningful moments.
The reception venue, Leach Botanical Gardens, left me in awe. Situated by a tranquil creek in outer SE Portland, the garden offers a peaceful urban greenspace. We began their portraits in the Upper Garden, which features an aerial tree walk, and ended them in the lower garden with its lush native plants, historic plant collections, and meandering wooded trails. The reception itself was held outdoors next to the historic estate, taking place under a gorgeous canopy of trees and bistro lights. The entire day was filled with an overwhelming amount of love and excitement, a true testament to how deeply E + K are cherished by their loved ones.
